I am studying biomedical sciences at Surrey University but also want to work on a part time basis (18 hours/week). Will this be possible, specifically with a first year biomedical sciences timetable?

difficult but possible... online tutoring gets you a lot of money... 24 pounds per hour... or rentafriend.com

Where a person rents you to hang out with them and pays you 50 an hour

Probably doable if your employer fits your hours around your timetable. The issue is that the time you're not in lecturers is time you would be doing assignments and revision. It's those times it will get difficult.
