It’s Graduation (Almost!)

While heading towards my few final exams of my final year as an undergraduate student is making me happy and excited, it never fails to remind me how close I am to finishing such a long journey that I began three years ago. It honestly feels like it was yesterday, when I accepted my offer to study at the University of Sheffield and was gearing to get my visa and paperwork done to get to the UK, packing my bags, sorting accommodation and so on. But, the truth is that it’s been three long years, yet it still feels like it went by in a blink of an eye.

Reminiscing on the three years, brings back memories of engaging in modules I had never done before, challenging myself at not just the academic level but otherwise. Also, living with students from around the world, making some strong bonds and friendships with people from parts of the world I would have never imagined of, discovering the culture and ways of a foreign land. Engaging in multiple activities and societies, working in many different positions and roles across several university departments and most importantly discovering myself and my passion.

While getting closer to graduation is a reminder that these days are coming to an end, I know that the beautiful memories are to stay with me for life. And although I prefer to look at graduating (or heading towards it) and the end of my Undergraduate degree as the starting point for another exciting journey, there is no denying that these three years will be missed!

And I want to end it with a quote which best describes my current state- “Take pride in how far you’ve come. Have faith in how far you can go. But don’t forget to enjoy the journey.” – Micheal Josephson. It is a sure thing that our life has exciting possibilities awaiting us in the near future after graduation, but in these last few days left until the d-day, I want to take pride in how far I have come, have faith in how far I can go and until then enjoy the journey! I wish everyone graduating this year a great graduation day ahead ?
